We don’t have a lot of outdoor space in Tokyo, but we do have a small garden, and now that the days are warmer, it’s delightful to sit out there and enjoy the Spring air. In the morning, I like to take my first coffee and sit on the teak and rattan chairs we brought with us from Singapore, then go over my plans for the day.
It seems I’m not alone in enjoying this sunny corner as the warmer weather has brought a steady procession of neighbourhood cats into the garden, each enjoying a spot of morning sun. There’s quite a few cats living near us, though in the cooler months, they only enter the garden at night, rarely staying longer than is required for a territorial stroll and investigation.
Cats can be so serious at times.
But now, with the warmer winds of spring blowing and the sun actually managing to heat ground, even early in the day, the cats are clearly searching for new places to spend their day and our little garden seems to have become a favourite. This morning I spotted a little white cat, though it made for bushes by the time I had come back with my camera. Tomorrow morning I’ll make sure to take camera with me for a little coffee and cat spotting time.
