The Moral Deliberations of a 4 Year Old

My daughter, who turns four in a few weeks, stunned me today with her moral accumen. Since I was feeling unwell, we missed our usual afternoon swim and spent some time playing and watching TV. When an advertisment for a Batman cartoon came on, it elicited the following conversation.

Me: Batman looks scary
Her: He fights people
Me: Fighting is not good
Her: It’s OK papa, he only fights bad people.

I hate to sound like the bragging parent, but that is quite an interesting moral deliberation for one so young.
