Project Studio Guy is a newish blog I have been tracking. As the name suggests, it is a blog dedicated to music recording. The recent post on producing at a distance caught my eye. I’m not even on the same continent as most of the musicians I know and want to work with. The idea that current recording technology, particularly tools like digitalmusician.net, could allow me to collaborate with distant musicians is very exciting.

While we are on the subject of studio blogs, you might want to check out Mike’s Studio Blog, which is the recording blog of singersongwriter Mike Garrigan. He is currently blogging through the production of a new album and there is lots of good information there on the recording, mixing and mastering processes.

That said, both these blogs suffer from one problem I am starting to call shallowcasting, but I will blog about that later.
