Towards the end of 2001 I put together a proposal for a conference on Theology and Culture in an era of globalisation. The conference proposal was met with some real interest, but for internal university reasons it never got off the ground.

However, reading back on the list of suggested topics, it strikes me that there are still some very interesting ideas that might continue to be worth exploring. Here is the original list,

Anarchic Ecclesiologies
(En)Gendering Faith
Spiritualities of Difference
Consumerist Theology
The Church as a Political Entity
Technologies of Forgiveness
Ritualising the Body
Public Christianity in a Post-Constantian Age
Theology as an Act of Hospitality
Conspiracy Theories of Religion
City-Specific Theologies
The Missiological Benefits of Globalisation

Where would you guys/girls do this conference?

Thanks for the interest Mike. The conference is really dead as I am no longer with the university that would have potentially been the host. However, if anyone in the future is keen on the ideas, I would be more than happy to contribute.
