Had a really fine chat over coffee this afternoon (cafe Nero on Regent Street) with Andi Allen of Monkey FX. We chatted about the postive reviews the pedals we have worked have garnered in Guitarist magazine and upcoming reivews for Andi’s other products.

However, I was stunned by Andi’s generosity in giving me one of his designs, the Cheekey Monkey pedal pictured above. I look forward to trying out this effect, which seems to be universally well recieved. You can buy this pedal direct from Andi (or in the US from Brad at ToneFactor).

Another act of generosity that I failed to blog was Robert Keeley’s contribution to the Asian Earthquake appeal. Robert decided to aucition one of his limited edition pedals on Harmony-Central with all proceeds going to the disaster relief. When yours truly won the auction, Robert decided to match the final amount in full. Between us we managed to raise enough to provide tents for four families.

Both these small acts just remind me that the boutique end of music equipment is populated by some genuiely decent folk.
