Yesterday I spent a very emotionally draining day going through some of things, decided what we will take to the apartment and what will go into storage. It says something about the lack of space we have here (or the amount of space in we had India) that most of our things are staying in storage.

Pretty amazing given that I gave away well over half my clothes, most of our kitchen things and we either handed away, sold or just plain got rid of the bulk of our furniture.

One of the hardest jobs was going through the library. Right now I’m in the best creative/thinking space for probably five years, so it was hard to see so many books I would like to reread (or review properly) have to go back into boxes.

But, it was also tough to see the things I never managed to finish while in India – a half restored guitar, amp and effects parts, golf books and notes, art supplies and canvases. The years in Delhi were not productive for me, but maybe I underestimate how creative they were.

Oh and did I mention the smell? Yes, everything smelt of India!

One thing I did grab was my old journals from London. Those tired little black books were part of the inspiration for reviving this blog, back in 2003 and I plan to keep trawling through them for half-formed ideas and insights. Stay tuned.

hope your creative/thinking space continues despite your books going back in boxes.
