Perhaps.

Without doubt it is the most postmodern city we have, which in itself is reason for consideration. However, the rate of growth and influence of Dubai commands attention. If you are a thinker on things urban, theological and cultural, you need to reflect upon Dubai and visit the place. Seriously!

It’s interesting to ask *why?*.

To prove that the arabs can do western society better at its apparent cultural interface? I find the description at the end of the article – the sandwich – both telling and prophetic. Telling because it seems that there is very little men build like this without oppressing someone to do it. Prophetic because its establishing a potential pattern for societies to follow.

I’m not really a thinker on things urban, but I’m fairly sure I don’t want to visit the place – this kind of stuff both draws me in and repells me..
