No, I’m not about to start podcasting. Not that I haven’t thought about it, because to be honest the temptation is there. The problem is, I don’t have a clear focus on what to podcast about. I like the idea of interviews with Christian thinkers and maybe those working in unusual forms of ministry – well it’s an idea anyway.

Part of the problem is that compared to reading a blog, podcasts take a big investment of time. Most of the podcasts I bother to follow regularly weigh in under 20 minutes, quite a few under 10. To stick to that sort of time requires a good amount of discipline and editing. It requires a clear focus.

So for know, I just offer up a picture of my desktop recording setup. You are looking at my new, very affordable vocal microphone, my computer and extra screen, an extenal hardrive audio interface and headphones. All good fun. If you want to see a few more photos, you can check out my new Flickr photoset of music images.

Fernando, if you started a podcast, I for one would be listening intently!

I love the blog. I’d love it even more to hear your voice from across the miles. Just you and your thoughts and ideas. That’s what I’d like to hear.

Not that I’m trying to tempt you into doing something you may not have time to commit to … 😉

Fernando,

I’d also definitely listen to a podcast. I think occasional podcasts are a nice addition to a purely written blog.

Really nice set up by the way!

Nice lookin’ rig ya got there. I’m particularly keen on that gorgeous display! Very cute recording engineer ya got there, too – she charge by the cookie? 🙂

Luddite that I am, I’d listen to a podcast once to hear what you sounded like, but if the text were available I’d read it in preference to listening.

Guys – you are *supposed* to say podcasting is a bad idea, no-one will listen and those that do will laugh.

Seriously though, thanks for the encouragement.
