The combination of having and getting over the flu, together with a week of downtime while I transferred the blog server has broken my pattern of writing and posting material here. I’ve found myself in the mode of wanting to post thoughts and ideas, but not really putting myself in the position of doing so. It’s always amazing how small changes like this can reshape one’s daily habits!

This week I’m pretty tightly focused on music. I’ve signed up to sit an Apple Logic Pro certification exam at the end of the month, so there’s a little bit of study to done. I’m work through David Nahmani’s excellent Logic Pro 8 And Logic Express 8, which is an excellent book. Even if you are an experienced Logic user, this book really helps outline the key differences between Logic 8 and previous versions. Moreover, since it is really focussed on “real” song examples, it highlights a lot of ways to work faster and more efficiently.

I’m also in a pretty ruthless de-clutter mode. I’ll admit that the apartment-living part of the Hong Kong lifestyle has been one of the most difficult aspects of adjusting over the last year. The problem is acute and comes down to being a “work-from-home” person. If nothing else, the lack of space makes you focus real hard on the “what’s important” kinds of questions, which is no bad thing.
