Tsunami Update

There is a sad, yet predictable problem facing the major charities and NGOs working on tsuanmi relief, based on the discussions I’ve been having with people here. It seems that governments are holding back on building approvals for permanent structures. So, whilst a lot of temporary buildings have been put up, the wait continues to build permanent houses and other projects. In fact, one director of a well known organisation was telling me that they have had to turn down offers from volunteer teams, because they do no yet have approval to build, even though everything is ready to go.
