Next month I was due to travel to Delhi, Kashmir and Ladakh. However, the Kashmir leg of the trip has been cancelled, due to the current security concerns. That’s a big dissapointment, as I have always wanted to see that region. It was unsafe when I lived in India as well.

For a while it looked like the Ladakh leg of the trip might also be in jeopardy as news came through of the catastrophic storms and mudslides. However, that part of the journey will go a ahead, albeit with a revised itinerary.

I’m also looking forward to seeing Delhi again, though I expect it will look very different, in a lot of ways from the city I left just over four years ago. The change in Gurgaon will probably be even more pronounced, since so much of that city was still in the early stages of construction in 2006.

Before that I will be travelling to Taipei and then later this year to Tokyo and back to Adelaide.
