Hong Kong’s flagship English language newspaper is the South China Morning Post.
To be blunt, re-reading that sentence is really depressing. The SCMP is a risible excuse for a newspaper, cobbled together from articles lifted, for the most part uncritically, from foreign papers and news services, together with some locally produced, poorly edited and often misleading local reporting.
For example, in today’s editorial leader there was a piece on the need for greater environmental protection with regard to air emissions (this time from ferries). I quote,
“The Environmental Protection Department is staffed with highly killed officers …”
Shame the editorial depart of the SCMP is not staffed with highly skilled workers!
