In the last few weeks, the locally transmitted channel, BBC Entertainment, has started broadcasting reruns of http://www.bbc.co.uk/later/. I’m loving it, as Later was one of favourite programmes when we lived in London and something of a religion. Although the shows are from the last series, it doesn’t really matter because the quality of the live performances is so consistently high.

On last night’s broadcast, I was thrilled to see Rodrigo y Gabriela performing their hit, Tamacun. Sadly, they only got time for one song amongst a strong line-up. Still, they are touring widely (when visa problems don’t come up), which is fitting given their flair and talent.

In fact I prefer this second live version of the same song, which is a simpler arrangment, but captures better Gabriela Quintero’s stunning rythmn guitar playing. In fact, if you want and even closer look and maybe to try your hand at her style, check out this instructional clip.
