Passing of Paul Ricouer

Paul Ricouer, one of the greatest thinkers of our time has passed away in his flat in Paris. His intellectual legacy is enourmous, particularly in phenomenology and hermeneutics. Although this influence may now be indirect and implicit, I believe history will show Ricoeur to be the paramount philospher in terms of the study of religion and practical theology in our time and also to be an early articulator on the reconceptualisation of lived faith that we are seeing in the creative end of the church.
