My Job This Week – Tokyo International Film Festival

One of the busiest and most enjoyable weeks of the year is covering the Tokyo International Film Festival for The Society For Film podcast.

Tokyo International Film Festival

This week I’ll be in full cultural journalism mode as a I cover the 26th Tokyo International Film Festival for The Society For Film.

I’ve already covered the pre-conference press release and discussed some of the films I’ll be seeing on The Society’s regular podcast. But, this week I’ll be watching 3-4 films a day, attending press conferences and interviewers some of the directors, producers and actors whose films are screening in the conference.

The Tokyo International Film Festival is one of the biggest film festivals in the world and particularly important as a showcase for the best new Asian cinema. I’m feeling both flattered and ever so slightly overwhelmed to be covering this as an accredited member of the press, after having only arrived in Tokyo a few short weeks ago.
