Hooray The Monsoon Is Here

It was rather hot on Friday at 48C (118.4F), then on Saturday we had some pre-monsoon showers (heavy rain for 30 minutes that turned the whole of Delhi into a giant sauna). However, yesterday morning we arose to the now familar constant rain and a much more pleasant maximum of 36C (96.8F). Yes, the monsoon is here! For the rest of the week the maximums should stay in the mid 30s, but the most pleaant thing is that at night the minimums will finally be back into the mid 20s (80F) rather than the mid 30s. It is much easier to breathe.

Unfortunately this means more disease, traffic will become even more chaotic as the roads fall to pieces and the mosquito season will begin. Here if something goes right, it is because of the monsoon and if something goes wrong, it is also because of the monsoon.
