“Most people’s work environments, most typical offices, are actually harmful to the ability of developers, designers, writers, and other creative people to get into The Zone.”
Offices and The Creativity Zone (HT 43 Folders) is a thoughtful piece on working spaces and creativity. Sadly, a lot of people have very little control of the space within which they work. But, some of us do and maybe we need to think more about making that space as conducive as possible to creativty and productivity (not just comfort!). Others of us actually do have the power to influence the workspaces of others and maybe need to think more about how to maximise that responsibility.
