For many arrangers and musicians, the end of summer marks the time to start pulling those Christmas songbooks out of storage and working on some fresh arrangements.
In past years I’ve revisited Christmas favourites with big band ideas, funk reinterpretations and references to various kinds of world music. To be honest, it’s some of my favourite work, trying to bring some freshness to these familiar tunes.
This year I’m going to spend a little time working up some solo jazz guitar arrangements of a few Christmas classics. For regular readers here, this means you’ll be getting some free charts to look at. Hopefully they will inspire your playing and arranging.
So, if there are any tunes in particular you’d like me to work up, then drop me an email or leave a comment. Just be advised that I can only work on public domain stuff for the blog.
