Being In London, Thinking About Travel

This morning C and I were in a Cafe, she was enjoying a Croissant and colouring-in, I was nursing a cappcappuccino and pondering travel, holidays and ex-pat life.

Today marks the 19th day of this particular sojourn in London. To be honest by this stage in a normal holiday I would be more than a little keen to get back home. However, I have no desire to get back to India. In fact this is quite odd for me, given that overall 2005 was something of a blessed year in terms of travel outside the country, with trips to Australia, the US, Dubai and two trips to the UK. This made quite a change from the lack of travel and breaks in 2004.

Oddly enough, we will be back in London at the end of February, which is a story I will unpack later. Travel will probably be a motif for 2006 as well, because there will not just be holidays, but also a major move away from India. We still do not have date for the move, or even any confirmation on where we will be moving to. However, it will mean lots of changes, which for me can’t come soon enough.
