A nice surprise to return to…

Well it had to happen! I start a weblog and my internet connection goes awry for four days. This is India; what to do?

As I sifted the news, however, I met a very pleasant surprise. Kristen Aune, one of my fellow PhD researchers from King’s has an article in today’s Guardian. I enjoyed reading Kristen’s thoughts, but found myself wondering, does this only apply to women? Surely “nostalgia for lives they’ll never live” is a metaphor for may of us, both women and men, in this post-industrial age.
