How Computers Make Kids Dumb

Far too few people seem to be questioning the value of introducing kids to computers at an early age. Certainly here in India there seems to be an almost universal assumption that starting ‘computer education’ as young as pre-school is abest way to go.

Thankfully, there is some critical thought going into this as exhibited by Andrew Orlowski. Clearly the paradigm of “problem-solving deficit disorder” is rampant through not only the internet, but the lived reality of many people in my generation. Woe to us that now we are parents, we exhacerbate it in our children.
