I’m now in Jaipur, the fabled “pink city” through truth be told it’s more the orange and brown city. I guess the later just does’t seem as romantic.
Pushkar was underwhelming, not so much because of the whole “Goa-In-The-Desert” thing but because I came down with a cold and spent the better part of two days trying to sleep it off. I now have a “lost weekend in Pushkar” story which I relentlessly (and fictionally) embellish over the years until it becomes interesting enough to tell, The Road Less Travelled style.”
Panchwar Ghar I do remember more clearly, despite hurting my head pretty badly. I stayed in the cannon turret of a 350 year old fort and despite numerous warnings to “mind my head” I managed to nearly knock myself out on a low staircase.
Amazing place with a quaint village nearby, all set in picturesque and productive farmland. I could have easily stayed a lot longer there.
