June Wallpaper And Personal Update
First of all, I want to say a special word of thanks to you, yes you, for reading this blog. I don’t like to obsess about statistics, but May was the best month I’ve had in years (in terms of traffic). It caps off a great run of growth that stretches back to this time […]
First of all, I want to say a special word of thanks to you, yes you, for reading this blog. I don’t like to obsess about statistics, but May was the best month I’ve had in years (in terms of traffic). It caps off a great run of growth that stretches back to this time last year.
Numbers don’t mean much, but people do. And, this blog is growing because people like you are taking the time to read it – thank you!
New Design
Last month I also rolled out the deepest redesign this site has seen in some time. This included new portfolio pages for music and photography. Also, given the way blogging has gone in recent years, I included a disclosure page as well.
Life In Singapore
It’s been a very up and down start to the year. The highlights were photographing Thaipusam in February and attending MusicMatters last week here in Singapore (reviews of Day One and Day Two). But, I did get a bit down with all the rain at the start of the year and my own medical issues in January.
Regardless, I’ve settled into a productive pattern and am enjoying the day to day reality of life here. I love the clean air, the feeling of being surrounded by trees and the extra space, indoors and out. I miss Hong Kong from time to time, but I don’t regret the move.

This Month’s Wallpaper
I’ve missed a few months, so I decided to post what has probably been the most popular image so far this year as this month’s wallpaper. It’s the InfraRed photo that caught a lot of people’s eye in April. Back then I posted the unadulterated JPG as it came out the Fuji X-Pro1. But, now that Lightroom has been updated to read the X-Pro1’s RAW format, I have been playing with InfraRed images in more detail.
This one has only been worked on in very subtle ways, but there is a little Lightroom and Photoshop magic going on there. I’m still warming to the X-Pro1 and I plan to take it with me on upcoming trips to London and Adelaide.
