Back To Berklee, Into Podcasting?

Today I start another Berklee course, Film Scoring 101. I’ve had a passion for film and television music for some time and given the portfolio nature of my career(s) it makes sense to focus on a portable area of music. More than once my music has been described as “cinematic” and I feel very inclined to explore that now.

Moreover, the principles of film scoring are also helpful for working with new media. Podcasting, vidcasting, personal publishing, it is an exstension of something that began in guerilla fashion in the early days of film (and other media, for sure). To me new media is ripe for the same kinds of ideas that go into traditional film scoring, but maybe on a smaller scale.

All of which brings me to the problem with podcasts; they are really wordcasts. Now that I have access to faster internet connections I’d like to explore podcasting and videocasting, but I want to void using another medium just to spin words. Surely podcasting should also be soundcasting, music-casting and not just wordcasting?
