Reason Drum Kits 2.0

I have been holding off upgrading to Reason 3.0, but yesterday I found the new version of Reason Drum Kits online. Take a look at the promotional video and you will probably see why I am so enthused. Reason have used to the new combinator feature to allow each drum in a drum kit to be run by a separate sample and effects line into a sub-mix. This give you tremendous control over the drum sound, far more than under previous versions of Reason and even more than currently exists in Logic.

At this stage in my album project the drum sounds and drum editing have been the biggest headache. I’m sure that for future projects I will have to do the drums differently and I suspect Reason Drum Kits will play a part in the software end of that.
