Elitist? Moi?

According to this cute little test (HT to Thinker’s Progress) anyone with a High School reading age can make sense of this blog. I’ll wear that badge with pride, because in writing this blog I’m not only trying to write well, I’m also trying to avoid any kind of “dumbing down.” As I mentioned last month, behind many calls to make ourselves more easily understood (the idea of “keeping it simple”) there lurks a form of radical elitism.

So, despite my abstract choice of topics and resitance to simplifcation this blog appears to be quite readable. Thankfully, I need worry no longer that my prose might be periphrastic, prolix or enervating.
