Music

I run a small, independent audio workshop called SoundWallah; offering arranging, editing, MIDI orchestration, mixing and sound design services. My goal is to bring a fresh blend Asian and Latin American musical perspectives to Jazz and Funk music.

Even as a child I loved playing music; starting out on a nylon string guitar playing South American folk music, as well tunes by Cat Stevens and Don McLean. By my mid teens, things got serious as I took up electric guitar, playing live and even dove into building and modifying guitars and guitar effects. I also had the chance to study with some great players, including Jim Kelly, Carl Orr and Mal Eastick.

After holding down a few different “day jobs” I returned to full time music six years ago. In that time I’ve worked through some of the great courses available via Berklee’s extension programme, BerkleeMusic. I’ve completed Master Certificates in bothGuitar and in Arranging, as well as a Specialist Certificate in Orchestrating and Producing Music for Films and Games.

A big focus for the next few months in the completion of my first solo album, Not Quite Jazz. The album features all original compositions and covers my journey over the last five years through Jazz, Jam, Funk, Afro-Cuban, R&B, Tango and Bhangra music.

Below are a few samples of my music.
